Why I Don’t Stay at a Hotel/Resort More Than Once
One and Done
In all my years of traveling, I have only returned to a hotel/resort once. I regret returning to that resort for a second visit still today!
For me when traveling, where I lay my head is serious business. If I can’t get a good nights rest my whole entire day will be ruined.
There are a plethora of hotels and resorts. So many, that there really isn’t a need to return to one.
For some individuals, finding a single hotel/resort that they love in each destination they travel to is their preference. These individuals are typically creatures of habit and not very adventurous. I am the adventurous type!
Reasons for Never Returning:
- The greater the number of hotels/resorts that I experience the higher my expectations become.
- Returning to a prior visited hotel/resort would just increase my level of scrutiny. Yes, my personality is A type.
- I prefer newer hotels. Unfortunately, individuals don’t often treat their hotel suite as they would their own home. The state of hotels and their suites often deteriorates quickly as a result.
- In addition, depending on the destination, hotel & resort upkeep might not be that great. It often takes years before companies decide to renovate.
- I love being one of the first individuals to experience a hotel/resort. I never arrive to a hotel or resort on opening day, instead a month or two after opening.
- While modern design is my typical go to, occasionally I am interested in trying other styles of hotels/resorts for various reasons. Depending on the destination, I might prefer staying somewhere that stylistically resembles the culture of the area.
- Over time as you travel more, you will quickly be able to weed out those hotels/resorts that would not meet your needs so that you can focus on choosing from those that will meet your needs.
In conclusion, always Travel With Purpose (TWP). Travel because you enjoy it. Travel to learn. Travel to experience. Travel to become a better person in this world. Become more empathetic. Become more understanding. Become more humble. Become more grateful. Become more appreciative. Become more thankful.
