My Thoughts:

I’m always in search of gooooooood mexican food!  I was attending a show at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and decided to grab a bite to eat before the show.

Reservations are not required but definitely recommended.  I had a reservation and was seated within a couple of minutes of arrival.  Seems to be a very popular place.

The location is convenient.  Close to metro and I-66 heading into DC from 267 (Dulles Toll Road).

Parking is conveiently located m(within walking distance).  Cost of parking is reasonably priced considering the average cost for parking in the area.

Ambiance is nice with both inside & outside seating.  There is a seperate bar area on the 2nd floor.  On a Saturday night it was really busy.

Drink Selection is interesting.  All of the typical options are available as well as some curated menu options for those that don’t drink often.

Food was good.  More upscale menu items than your typical Tex Mex restaturant similar to Uncle Julios.  Items are available a la cart.  You can choose an appetizer, entree, sides and deserts each priced separately.  The food lacked flavor.  I was hoping for something more seasoned.  I tried the guacamole, fish tacos, short rib tacos, mexican rice and a pomegranate margarita.  Skipped dessert on this occasion.

Menu is a bit limited.  If they don’t offer seasonal specials I can see how the options can become boring.

Service although a bit rushed, was adequate.  The waitress spent some time going over the menu and providing suggestions since this was my first visit.  Once the restaturant started filling up, it became more challenging to get assistance from the wait staff.  Tables were cleared regularly so that you weren’t sitting in front of empty plates.

Final Thoughts: I’m glad that I tried this relatively new restaturant.  I wasn’t impressed with the food and nothing I tried has me wanting to return for more.  I suspect that my experience may have been better had it not been on a Saturday night.  I’d consider trying this restaurant again in the future just to give it another shot.  I would recommend that individuals try this restaurant for themselves and then decide if this restaurant is worth returning to.
